This update is for HYPER Core G4, HYPER Edge G2, HYPER Echo G1 and HYPER Echo G2.
Upgrading to this release will not require a reboot if the system is running on 5.3.x version branch.
Reboot is required when upgrading from 5.2.1 and older versions.
Introduction
This update finishes a series of major Replication and Granular File Recovery improvements, adds multiple usability improvements, and enables integration with 3rd party monitoring solutions.
New Features
This release brings the ability to integrate Syneto HYPER Series appliances with 3rd party monitoring solutions like Zabbix, PRTG, Nagios and others. Knowledge base articles will be published to explain integration of SynetoOS 5 with widely used monitoring solutions. This feature is available for Syneto appliances running SynetoOS 5 with an active SuperPro Maintenance contract.
Another addition to this release is the improved user experience for scenarios where Syneto products operate in environments that are isolated or have unstable internet connectivity. SynetoOS is now optimized to operate without internet connectivity.
Resolved Issues
Replication
Improvements to replication reliability in edge case scenarios.
Improved the error message clarity for scenarios where deleting a replica fails if it has active file recovery mounts.
Granular File Recovery
Fixed the Encoding Issues caused by the 'ñ' Character in the Recovery Files.
Fixed an issue that caused a recovered .zip file to become empty after a SynetoOS update.
Fixed an issue causing a False positive when creating an ISO image fails because there is not enough space on the appliance. A concise error message is now displayed if there is not enough space.
Improved clean up procedures to ensure no File recovery tasks are visible in the UI after clean up.
Web UI
Improved the user experience for a scenario when SynetoOS does not have connection to the Syneto Cloud on boot. As a result the UI is not blocked, and users can continue manage their Syneto infrastructure even if the appliances are not connected to the Syneto Cloud.
Improved task messages by presenting durations in a more user-friendly way (hours and minutes instead of seconds).
Fixed the 'Create a virtual machine' button on the Dashboard page.
Fixed an issue that caused the Replication Targets page and Protect tab not to load if one of the targets is powered off.
Known Issues
Uploading a file to Image Repository can get stuck if there is no space on the storage pool.
In some scenarios user may not be able to remove a Granular File Recovery ISO mount from the UI.
In some scenarios users can observe two replication subtasks running at the same time.
Replication Target is not visible in the UI on the primary system if the replication target does not allow SSH access.
