Problem description
I have a Windows server connected via two ethernet network interfaces to a Syneto Storage. On Windows I have created a link aggregation, and on Syneto Storage I created an aggregate using LACP. When there is little traffic on the iSCSI interface this setup works correctly, but when the traffic is increasing I receive this error in Windows logs: “The initiator could not send an iSCSI PDU”.
Possible explanation and solution
This may occur when the Windows link aggregation has configured ALB (Aggregate Load Balancing) or has disabled the SLA (Static Link Aggregation). For this solution to work correctly, the Windows server must be configured with:
- ALB: no (Aggregate load balancing)
- SLA: yes (Static link aggregate)
