The following article helps you to create a new virtual switch using VMware ESXi Embedded Host Client. The virtual switch can be used for Syneto Replication or if you want to isolate particular network traffic.

The first thing that you need to do is power off SynetoOS. Login to SynetoOS and click on Shut down button. We need SynetoOS VM to be powered off in order to be able to add a new virtual network card.

Next step, ESXi login using user root and password.

Go to Networking - Virtual switches - Add standard virtual switch called vSwitch2. Finish the operation by clicking the Add button.

Do not forget to add Uplink.

After successfully created the virtual switch, we need to create a new Port Group. In our case will call it Syneto Replication.

Do not forget to select our vSwitch2 as the virtual switch.

Next, we will add a new virtual card to SynetoOS. Go to SynetoOS virtual machine and click on Edit and add a new network adapter. Make sure you select VMXNET3.

Click to save the new configuration and power on SynetoOS virtual machine.
