This will upgrade any current hypervisors to the latest 6.5. Please take into account that after the upgrade a reboot will be required.

Please ensure that you are using at least SynetoOS 3.2.7 before running this upgrade procedure.

The procedure to upgrade is to download latest VMware ESXi version to the ESXi's local datastore (or datastore1, by default) and then install the update bundle using esxicli software update:

Steps

//Step 1. Clear old configuration for local.sh
# echo "#!/bin/sh" > /etc/rc.local.d/local.sh
# echo "exit 0" >> /etc/rc.local.d/local.sh

//Step 2. Create deployment folder on local datastore (name 'datastore1' may be different)
# mkdir -p /vmfs/volumes/datastore1/deployment

//Step 3. Browse to your newly created folder:
# cd /vmfs/volumes/datastore1/deployment 

//Step 4. Modify firewall rules:
# esxcli network firewall ruleset set -e true -r httpClient

//Step 5. Download latest version from our servers to local datastore:
# wget -O esx-syneto-update.zip http://b26e8c3d695ed0fb0dee-bb969871c94ac78f108e561fc9f42b57.r19.cf5.rackcdn.com/SynetoOS/SynetoOS-4.1.3/ESXi-6.5.0-20180304001-standard-SynetoHC-4.1-cac74a1.zip

//Step 6. Modify software acceptance level:
# esxcli software acceptance set --level=CommunitySupported

//Step 7. Update:
# esxcli software vib install -f --no-sig-check -d /vmfs/volumes/datastore1/deployment/esx-syneto-update.zip

//Step 8. Reboot (only if requested):
# reboot
